I’ve been looking for an angel. She should be tiny, preferably metallic, with a small hoop to hang from my earring. Ooh, and also an angel made of wood ready to hang on a tree. I’ve looked everywhere and am slowly realising that… angels aren’t part of Christmas 2024.
They’re not in any shop I’ve walked into. They’re not online. They’re not in the Christmas collections of any of the mainstream distributors. There are angel wings, should I so wish to have them (I don’t). And then there is this weird result that keeps coming up in the search engine.
I ask for angels and the internet gives me numbers like 4444 or 222. Weird. This obviously called for research and the answer was surprising. For those of you who are as ignorant as I’ve been, I gift you this knowledge. I know you’ll be so pleased I did…
Angel numbers. They’re a thing. Let me explain for those who, like me, have somehow missed learning this.
Angel numbers are repeating or predictable sequences of numbers assigned spiritual or astrological meaning. There are, it seems, many ways to identify your angel number.
- They are calculated from your birthdate or from the letters in your name.
- They resonate with you more than other numbers until you can’t help but recognise them.
- They aren’t actually assigned, they’re recognised if you pay attention to the signs.
- They are assigned and used by your guardian angels to communicate with you…
Let me stop you here before we go much further. I’m no mind reader but I’m aware there’s a chance you’ll assume I am completely taking the Mickey out of this concept. And you’d be right but only to a certain point. You see, even though I can’t find an angel to hang on the bottom of a suncatcher, I do have a very special relationship with a number. It’s 31. Well, 331 to be precise.
We first met when I started in my very first job at Coles New World. The introduction of scanners was imminent and I was allocated my very first PIN number. This is your code to login to the new registers. You must keep it private. Yours is 331. I memorised it studiously. I didn’t know then that I’d met my special one.
I went off to Uni in Melbourne. It felt so grown up to be at college with my own room and even a phone. They handed me the key. You’re in room 31 on the third floor, your phone extension will be 331.
I realised then that we had something special going on. Combinations of 3’s and 1’s have stood out in bright lights to me ever since. I see the time on the clock and I notice it’s just past half-past three. I park the car and the speedometer clicks over to 331.
I took myself out on a coffee date to write at a favourite cafe and ordered my usual (latte in a mug). She handed me the order number and I gasped. Order number 31. Of course it is. I wrote for a while and decided to update my project data. I added in books read and distances walked. The kilometres translated into miles and I crossed my fingers. 331 miles. There it was again!!! (Walking 500 miles in a year is taking longer than I thought).
Obviously I needed to go on a deeper dive into my very own angel number. There are countless sites sharing information about these combinations of angel numbers and so I share with you the ones that suited me the meaning of 331 and variants.
