About

Melinda Charlesworth - Writer sits in front of a tree in the sunshine.

The books I grew up with inspire my love of Australian story telling. Ruth Park (The Harp in the South), Tim Winton (That Eye, The Sky) and Helen Garner (Monkey Grip). I love the unique way an Aussie approaches story – wry, bleak at times, honest and so very familiar to me.

Melinda Charlesworth is a writer, coach, and resident of country Victoria (Australia) on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung peoples. As the Traditional Owners, the Djaara People are the original storytellers of this Land who continue to share Knowledge and share story for future generations to come.

Melinda writes about community, belonging and human doings. When she is not writing (and even when she is, to be honest), Melinda is parent of three (one of each), master of two dogs and slave of one cat, travelling buddy to one husband and lucky friend of many Flamingos who join her on hikes and other ridiculous adventures.
